Mos Burger : Mos is the Boss

So today I went to ship some items that I sold on eBay, afterwards I stopped at the grocery store to stock up on some snacks. I was surprised to see Reese's regular sized, I have seen the minis around but this was the first time I have seen the regulation size cups in Japan. I didn't end up buying them but I was tempted.

One of the main reasons I went was because I was having a craving for Fanta Orange soda but it seems everyone else was also having a Fanta Orange craving because when I got to the drink section they had everything except the spot for the Fanta Orange was empty, wiped out. They had Fanta Grape but this was a Fanta Orange day and grape would just not do here. I ended up getting a small can instead but I wanted the big one.

"Lets see what else...." ;-)

Later I went for a walk and stopped at Mos Burger for dinner I wasn't really hungry I just wanted to get out and do something. Last time I wasn't clear about wanting to eat there and they gave me a to-go bag so this time I was very clear that I wanted to eat in the restaurant.
After I sat down I wrote up my lesson plan for my first English class. I forget if I mentioned it, I think I did, but I start teaching on Wednesday. The first class is kind of just an introduction with the focus being that they leave being able to ask "Where are you from" and be able to answer with "I am from xyz". Its how I will tell them where I'm from, theres some rhythm exercises to get the pacing right and some games. I think its gonna be a good and fun class. After that we will likely work closer to a book with more clear objectives but as a start and intro like I said, I think this will be good.

The thing I like about Mos Burger is that the food looks the way it looks in the ads, you know how if you go to a fast food place and look at the menu the food looks real good but then you get it and sit down and it looks like someone sat one it and the fries are limp and soggy. Its all flat and depressing and just sad which makes you feel that way and say "why am I doing this to myself?". Here the food still looks really good when you get it and the fries are always hot and crispy, "I give them a 10!" (thats a little classic line my dad had when he visited Japan a few years ago and I still think of it every time I eat them). The one thing was this time the fries tasted a little fishy, I don't mean strange or off I mean fishy. Someone must have ordered the fried fish burger and the oil still had the flavor in it, it wasn't that bad but it wasn't as good as it usually is.
Bonus picture that was taken by my sister in law the other day at the restaurant.

Other than that the day has just been filled with putting things up on ebay, nothing too exciting.

Epic Amount of Games

I know, I know...I said the game buying would slow down but the deals were good. Plus today I went to Hard Off which is about an hour or so away by car so I had to make the most of it while I was there. One quick note I was taking pictures of everything but half way though I got tired so started doing bulk shots, I'll have to go back and get different shots for my eBay listings. So lets get this thing started.

Lets start with what I bought the other day lets start with what I picked up from my favorite recycle shop. For the Mega Drive (Genesis in the USA) I got Dangerous Seed and took a risk on Super Hydlide in the case (which wasn't to great its only worth about $10 but Dangerous Seed is worth about $20).
Then I picked up some PC Engine games, I had just sold my first PC Engine game for a great profit return so figured I would give these a try. The games I got were Cyber Combat Police, Gai Flame and Psycho Chaser they all go for about $15-$20. On the Saturn I grabbed Sega Rally Plus (Collection edition, I would have preferred the standard version), D and Nana no Kaze the first two go for around $15 and the last one goes for $35.
For the Neo-Geo CD I got Super Sidekicks 2 valued at about $15.Finally I grabbed some strategy guides for Super Donkey Kong, Street Fighter Turbo and Super Mario Land 2.
It was to be the regular price of $1 per game and book but when I was rang up (due the the fact that I was buying so much) the owner only asked for $10. Sweet I love that place.

The next day I went to Book Off and got a few more games, first was Mario Story (Paper Mario in the USA) for the N64 complete and in the box ($9.50). For the PC Engine CD I got Space Battleship Yamato ($2.50), on the Famicom I got Double Dragon ($2.50), they had Zelda but they wanted $15 for it and it only goes for about $20 so I passed.
For the Super Famicom I got a Godzilla game and PC Genjin (Bonks Adventure) (both were $2.50) they didn't have much else and what they did have they were asking too much. Next to the Super Famicom games are the Gameboy Advance games I saw they had Gameboy Wars Advanced 1+2 (Advanced Wars 1+2 in the USA) which is A) a good game that I wanted and B) valuable, so I picked that up for $15.50.
The reason I went there was to pick up a Saturn game that I had seen before and passed on. I consider myself to know a good amount when it comes to the Saturn so I'm always intrigued when something totally new pops up. That was the case when I discovered that there was another 4MB Ram cartridge on the system, I had thought the clear Capcom one was the only one, but it turns out there was an Ultraman one as well. I couldn't care less about Ultraman games but that ram cart is something I couldn't pass on. Luckly the game was still there so I was able to pick that up for $2.50.

On the way out I noticed that there was a "bargain bin" with all the games just $1. I took a look though and found Dead or Alive 3 and DOA Beach Volleyball for the original Xbox which I added to the cart. On the Playstation I found Tobal No.2 (I had 1 so figured I could sell them together) and Street Fighter Zero 3, which got me really excited. I know the Saturn version (which is the better version, Saturn for the win) is worth around $100, turned out the Playstation version was more common and only worth about $15. But hey all those for $4 not bad.

Thats a lot already and I don't think we are even half way though this list....geeze. Okay okay deep breath....

So then I walked over to Mandarake and got Double Dragon II and III (both were $6) to complete the set on the famicom, I also got Ninja Gaiden II for $8. Then I went for the glass case (aka expensive) I got Rockman X3 and Rockman and Forte for $21 (Rockman X3 is for me). Then I got a game that is pretty rare and the price seemed reasonable at $47 the name of the game is Gourmet Sentai Bara Yarou. Its a beat-em up type of game that goes for about $150 they actually had a boxed version too but they wanted $300 for that.
Then when I got off the bus I decided to go to the recycle shop that is right at the corner, I found a really rare N64 controller its clear orange and clear black the best part is it came with the (beat up but hey) original box. They wanted $10 but it goes for about $100 without the box so I picked that up.
I then saw some games for the SFC that I new were in the $15 range, they were all Sailor Moon games (one I got before with the box) so I bought those all for $3 each. I also got a really nice copy of Super Donkey Kong (which I can now sell with 2 and 3 as a set) and S.T.G. which is a game I wanted for myself. I took a risk on Puyo Puyo for the Mega Drive and I would say that was a bust I can break even on it but thats about all. Finally I grabbed Mario Tennis 64 for, you guessed it, the N64. Again all those were $3 each.
Yesterday I went to class and stopped at the game store again to see if I could get another copy of Muchi Muchi Pork to sell but found out the one I got was the only copy they had. I'm not surprised but now I have to decide if I want to keep it or sell it. Anyway while I was there I got a game I wanted, Caladrius ($62) which is region locked and only works on Japanese consoles but now that my Xbox is being replaced with a Japanese one I will be able to play it. I also went to the shop that I had found the used Xbox games and was able to find Virtual On 4 for the 360 which I was excited to see there for just $10. Hmmm only two games that day, well moving on.
So that brings us to today and Hard Off, this is defintally the longest post yet. When I walked in I went right to the hardware section to look for the things I can't find at the usual stores I go to. I started going though the bins and realized I was going to need a basket. I picked up a clear Hori PS2 controller ($5), a SFC controller ($2) and and SFC controller extension ($3 this was for me SFC controllers have really short cables about 2/3 of a SNES controller) as well as the SFC mouse($1).
I got a Dreamcast keyboard in the box for $5 which turned out to be just okay price wise. I also got a a really beat up Gameboy Advance to use for parts on that Hello Kitty GBA I got a while back. I also got a clear red VMU for the Dreamcast ($5) and the Wireless adapter for the GBA ($1).
I was able to find a Gameboy Pocket Printer (remember the Gameboy Camera? Well I do, it sucked but it was cool for the time) and this thing still had paper in it, bonus!
Moving over to the games I got a bunch on the Saturn. I'm just going to list this off, Puyo Puyo 2, X-Men vs Street Fighter (its the one that came with the box set as the case is just simple clear with the instructions), Wing Arms, Dead or Alive, Bio Hazard, Street Fighter Zero, Shenmue, Last Bronx and another copy of Christmas Nights (this is for a buddy back home and if he's reading he knows who he is). All the games were just $1 each.
I also got Choro-Q on the GBA in the box for $8 and Mickey Mouse V on the Gameboy for $1.
Finally The best item I picked up (and am keeping for myself) was a game case for the Super Famicom which holds up to eight games. Its in really, really good shape and was only $5. Ironically the game on the front, Super Mario World, is not one of the games I included in the case.

Phew! Made it, you too? Congrats that was epic.

So that wraps it up it was a crazy few days but the eBay machine is working and that definitely helps all this was just reinvesting, or at least thats how I'm looking at it :-)

UPDATE:
Turns out I forgot one game, CosmoGang for the Super Famicom another one I wanted for myself.
I bought it today at Hard Off for $1. Okay now we are all good..... I think.....yea....maybe.
