I went out yesterday and hit up the regular spots in Tenjin. Book Off was a complete waste, they did have Rockman X (MegaMan X) but they wanted $10 I had just bought a copy of this for about $7 and the condition of this one wasn't great so I was out. I left and headed to Mandarake, when I walked in I noticed that they had another Saturn in the box. This box was the better full color box rather than just the red print with cardboard that the last one was. The price was a little higher at $40 but I was still interested.
I took a look around but the Saturn game section was bare. Looking at the Super Famicom section I found a boxed copy of Donkey Kong Country at $5 I was in. I also was able to find Rushing Beat ($4) in the loose game section.
I also found a loose copy of Mother for the Famicom again at a reasonable price of $6 this one wasn't in as good condition as the last one though but I still picked it up. In the Game Boy section I found a boxed copy of Pokemon Red ($5). I got that to go with my boxed copy of Pokemon Blue.
Looking at the games in the case I saw that they had gotten a copy of Magical Pop'n they wanted $100 but this game goes for about $200-$250. I had to think about it, I had also found Rockman 5 on for the Game Boy but at $26 I wouldn't be able to get that if I was to get this game. I bit the bullet and went with Magical Pop'n, which now has the award for the most spent on one single item.
I asked about the Saturn and wanted to look inside to see just how white the console was before I bought it. They said that would be fine, I only wanted to get it if it was white. I mean like really white not yellow or two toned. A lot of times the disc door doesn't fade as much as the rest of the system so you get a yellow system with a white door which looks horrible. When they took the system out I could tell right away that I was not going to get it as it had the two tone problem.
After I left I went over to the arcade again this time there was no tournament going on and the place had more games as they refilled the viewing area. I actually realized I didn't have any $1 coins and I didn't want to make change from a $10. So again I didn't actually end up playing anything.
After I got home it turned out that finally my Saturn A/V cable had showed up. Its like the world knew I had passed on the other Saturn and was rewarding me.
Now it was time to see if the $1 Saturn was good deal or an awesome deal. I hooked everything up and turned it on.
Oh yeah baby this thing is rocking. I tried out the fight stick and X-Men vs. Street Fighter and while I will need to work on my fight stick skills (doing a dragon punch is harder for me on the fight stick for some reason) the game was awesome. I mean, I knew it would be as I have it back in the US but it was great playing it again. I'm looking forward to trying out the twin sticks and Virtual On later.
On the Xbox front I am shipping out the system, again, today. Hopefully I will get the replacement sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed (Sis you better cross everything for this one).

Crossing!
