Looking around I saw that there was a few new things in, among them were a few Super Famicom games which I picked out Super Mario RPG and another copy of Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium. A little farther down the shelf I found the instruction books for both of those games as well.
I also found a black DMG (original) Game Boy, it was missing the screen faceplate and the battery cover but everything else on it was in great shape, no dings or scratches and it even had the link cable cover. I figured that if the price was really cheap like 50 cents or a dollar I would pick it up as a project I can work on down the line. I asked the shopkeeper and she first wanted to test the unit to see if it worked, which I was also curious of (did it power on, were there lines on the screen thing I could fix but good to know ahead of time), she opened a pack of AA batteries and popped 4 batteries in and turned it on. It started up with no issue and the screen was actually really sharp and nice. I asked how much and she said $1 the same price as the other games. I said I would take it and took the batteries out to give them back but she said I could keep them, yea they are crapy generic batteries but hey free so that was nice.
While she was putting everything in a bag I noticed two Nintendo DS systems behind the counter. So I asked about them turned out one was a DSi and the other a 3DS she said the DSi would be $1 and the 3DS $5. The 3DS was in perfect condition and it turned on and appeared to work just fine. I wanted to buy it right then but she said that next week she will have the power cord and that she would hold it for me until then, I didnt want to push too hard to get it right at that moment as I didnt want to seem rude plus she has always been very nice with deals in the past. I have a feeling the price might change in that time as the blue 3DS is worth about $150 but we will see about that. Still I will go back next week and see if I can pick that up too. Fingers crossed (Sis, I'm looking at you).
On my way home I stopped by the other recycle shop near my house and had a look around. There were no new games, they did have a platinum Game Cube in the box but at $38 I passed on that. As I was walking around I came upon this:
It was funny to me because my dad had this exact poster hanging up in his basement back in the states and for a split second I felt like I was in my parents basement.
Other than that I started work on a custom GBA case mod but I need to get paint and some other supplies. Here is a sneak preview of that project in the teardown stage.
Maybe I'll have an update on it next week if nothing else comes up.
