Yesterday I went into the city to pick up some paint for a project I am working on. I think I forgot to mention that in the package I got last week I also received some of my oil paints from back home. Anyway there were a few colors I needed to pick up. After I left the art supply shop I went to Super Book Off and figured I would take a quick look around. There can't be anything new that I would want right? I mean I was just there. Wrong, I found Batman Returns for the SFC, a game I really wanted. I also picked up Sega Rally for the Saturn total at check out $3.50. I really am surprised at how it seems they get new stuff every day or at least every week.
Today we went out to celebrate my wife's grandfathers birthday. We picked them up and drove about an hour or so to a sea port and had some fresh sea food more specifically fresh shellfish. I have never had oysters before, unless you count the crackers, and I never really had any interest in them. I could have gone my whole life with out trying one and been just fine with that. That said these were actually pretty good. First off they were big and like I said fresh like really fresh and they were cooked or at least heated up. I don't think any degree of freshness would have helped me eat them raw/cold. We also had some scallops which were really good and there were some snail like things that I didn't try. We ordered a lot there were six of us but we got about 50 oysters and like I said they were big, bigger than any of the ones I have seen in Boston. It was kind of dangerous too, while cooking some times the shell would burst and send boiling hot water shooting out about 7 ft. Only one from our batch actually hit someone in our party, it was the birthday boy (its like it knew). But it was funny because you could hear other tables popping and people jumping and yelling. It was a really fun time.
After we left and dropped off the grandparents we picked up my wife's middle sister. This is the first time I have meet her. At this point all we have really said is hi but we will see how it goes and how long she stays home.
